2026 stock market holidays for Hong Kong, Germany and the EU?

The short answer

The sources used here contain no official 2026 holiday list for the Hong Kong, German or EU exchanges, so those dates are not given. Confirmed 2026 dates are US ones: NYSE and Nasdaq close on January 1, January 19, February 16, April 3, May 25, June 19, July 3, September 7, November 26 and December 25.

Hong Kong, Germany and the EU

The official pages used for this page cover US markets (NYSE, Nasdaq), US fixed-income recommendations from SIFMA, and CME Group's 2026 trading-day calendar. None of them lists 2026 holidays for the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the German exchanges or EU exchanges.

Because of that, no dates for Chinese New Year, Easter or Hang Seng holidays in 2026 are given here. They are not in the sources, and guessing them would be wrong.

US dates that are confirmed

According to NYSE's Holidays & Trading Hours page, all NYSE markets observe these 2026 holidays: New Year's Day (Thursday, January 1), Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday, January 19), Washington's Birthday (Monday, February 16), Good Friday (Friday, April 3), Memorial Day (Monday, May 25), Juneteenth (Friday, June 19), Independence Day observed (Friday, July 3), Labor Day (Monday, September 7), Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 26) and Christmas Day (Friday, December 25).

Nasdaq's schedule page lists the same 2026 closed dates. It also lists early closes at 1:00 p.m. Eastern on November 27, 2026 and December 24, 2026. NYSE says its markets close early at 1:00 p.m. Eastern (1:15 p.m. for eligible options) on those same two dates.

Early closes and other markets

SIFMA recommends a 2:00 p.m. Eastern early close for US fixed-income trading on several 2026 dates, including May 22, July 2, November 27 and December 24, and a 12:00 p.m. Eastern close on Good Friday, April 3, 2026. SIFMA's page also lists UK and Japan dates, but those are fixed-income recommendations, not stock exchange holiday calendars.

CME Group's 2026 Trading Days Schedule marks US holidays but does not give a holiday list for Hong Kong, Germany or the EU.
