Questions
How do I export my trade history from MetaTrader 5?
In MetaTrader 5 open View, then Toolbox (Ctrl+T), then the History tab. Right-click the list, choose a period (Custom period for exact dates), then right-click again and choose Report, then HTML. Drop that file into the journal.
Is my trading data uploaded anywhere?
No. The report is read by your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server and there is no account.
What is a good profit factor?
Profit factor is the money won divided by the money lost. Above 1 the account made money over the period; below 1 it lost. The per-trade result (expectancy) says how much an average trade made or lost after costs.
Does it work for prop firm challenge accounts?
Yes, any MT5 account's history report works, including FTMO, FundedNext, The5ers and FundingPips accounts. Add your account size to see your worst day as a share of the account, next to a prop firm's daily loss limit.
How are trades matched with the news?
A trade counts as held through a big release when it was open at the release time, or opened within 5 minutes after it. Releases come from the official schedules on our economic calendar; set your broker's server time so the clocks line up.
