Is news trading allowed at Maven Trading?

The short answer
It depends on the account. On Maven's Standard 1 Step, 2 Step and 3 Step you may not open or close trades on affected instruments from 2 minutes before until 2 minutes after an applicable Red Folder release (ForexFactory). 2 Step OMO allows news trading with profit from any single news event capped at 0.50% of the balance (funded stage). Buy Now Pay Later, Instant Funding and Instant Mini allow news trading without restriction.
The rule on Standard accounts
Maven's FAQ, for Standard 1 Step, 2 Step and 3 Step: "Do not open or close trades on affected instruments from 2 minutes before until 2 minutes after an applicable Red Folder release."
The window "also covers take-profit execution and automatic closure on reaching the challenge profit target." "During the Challenge, opening or closing a trade in the restricted window is a hard breach. In the Simulated Funded Account, profits generated in the restricted window are excluded."
Which instruments a release affects
Maven lists CPI, FOMC statements and meetings and Non-Farm Employment Change as affecting all instruments. Other releases affect the currency's own pairs and related instruments; for example, US releases such as jobless claims, retail sales, GDP and PMI/ISM affect USD forex pairs and US indices, as Maven's affected-instrument list shows.

Can I hold a trade through news at Maven?
Maven's FAQ words the rule as opening or closing in the window, including take-profit execution and the automatic close at the challenge profit target. It does not mention holding, so ask Maven before you rely on it.
What happens if I break the Maven news rule?
During the Challenge it is a hard breach. In the Simulated Funded Account, profits made in the restricted window are excluded.
